Convert iMovie or iPhoto video to flash
Table of contents
From iMovie->Share.. Youtube
Then after youtube gets it processed, view it in Safari, cmd-option A and double click the big ole media file to download it locally as get_video.
Rename get_video file to something appropriate and add the .flv extension to the file name.
A digital camera may dump avi files into iPhoto. In that case, open the iPhoto media in iMovie as a first step.
UPDATED FOR SNOW LEOPARD
The Quicktime Player included with Snow Leopard can do moving screen capture videos.
Straightest path discovered so far to get these into eZ Publish is documented below. Simplifies the process of video to web, like the http://webportalmaster.com/index.php/eng/osx/Wow/Safari-History-as-Flowing-Images page. In that instance, I first tried the Youtube method outlined above. Youtube did not have the video processed 14 hours later, possibly because of all the images and checking for anything inappropriate? Regardless, needed a more reliable method. For future reference, that method is outlined below.
- Created the original screen movie with Quicktime Player, which produced an 8mb .mov file. In this case, absolutely do not need the high quality and big storage of .mov. Wanted to knock it down to size, but youtube is not doing me the .flv service reliably.
- With the movie open in Quick Time Player, do a File->Save As.., in the "Format" drop down selector choose "iPhone".
- This creates a file with an .m4v extension, importantly sized only 2mb. 480x300 at about 15 frames per second. The m4v extension is an Apple specific file extension for H.264 codec.
- Long story short, change the .m4v to .flv and upload into eZ publish just like it was a native .flv file.
- It works just like the old .flv files that were converted using youtube. Youtube was giving smaller files, but this works without waiting on youtube.
You won't find this on Google!
I don't think you will find this anywhere else on the web, at least the best option I could find Googling, was ffmpeg which is a lot of complexity and installation for this simple requirement.
Likely this solution will be reliable into the future, given the article linked below re H.264 and HTML5 entering into discussions of the future of the web.

Updated Again
Use soundflower to capture machine audio simultaneous with screen movie.
